What I Do

I am a caring, supportive and genuine therapist who works to understand people as individuals and will help clients explore their emotional health from a holistic perspective, including mind, body and soul.   I work from an eclectic and client tailored perspective acknowledging that thoughts affect our feelings and behaviors, and that supportive relationships can motivate individual change.  I focus on increasing acceptance and compassion, using emotional expression, self awareness and action.  I will provide a safe, non-judgmental, and open space to discuss dreams, feelings and goals and to begin accomplishing growth in areas identified.    I emphasize the therapeutic values of empathy, authenticity, and validation, and believe in the ability of humans to heal themselves and to become fully actualized through personal insight.  I know that change can be a difficult process, but I encourage clients to take that next step with my professional support and guidance— it is more than worth it!

With 6.5 years of experience helping people achieve satisfaction and fulfillment in life, I have worked in community mental health clinics, substance abuse treatment centers, hospitals, and vocational programs that have prepared me to work collaboratively with clients in the following specialized areas:

-Self Esteem

-Relationship issues and Communication

-Adjustments and Transitions in Life

-Depression and Anxiety

-Substance Abuse / Dependence

-Trauma

-Health, Wellness and Life Counseling

-Career Counseling
